欣闻美国斯克利普斯研究所遗传学系主席、我校兼职教授Bruce Beutler（布鲁斯·博伊特勒）获得2011年度诺贝尔医学奖，校长朱崇实10月5日代表学校给Bruce Beutler教授发去贺电表示祝贺。昨日，Bruce Beutler教授专此回信朱校长，对朱校长的祝贺表示感谢，并表达了他本人与厦门大学的特殊感情，表示一定会在适当时候再次访问我校。

Dear President Chongshi:

　　Thank you very much for your kind letter. I recall my visits to Xiamen University with great pleasure. I was impressed by the high quality of research, and by the interest and obvious dedication of the students I had a chance to meet. One of my own former graduate students, Professor Jiahuai Han, was my host on both of the past visits I made. This by itself establishes a special connection between myself and Xiamen University. I hope to visit again in the future as soon as time permits.

尊敬的朱崇实校长：
